~Amy's appearance to the Sonic the Hedgehog
series~
Amy Rose wasn't really created by the Sonic Team, she was
first created as a prototype for the Sonic the Hedgehog
manga. Then Sega & Sonic Team took that character,
redesigned her and put her in the Sonic the Hedgehog series.
Her first official appearance was a video game called Sonic
CD created
in 1993 for Sega CD.
In Sonic CD, Metal Sonic kidnaps Amy and Sonic had to save
her. Amy fell in love with Sonic ever since and always tried
to win Sonic's heart.
In 1998, Amy was forced to one of the main
characters of
all Sonic the Hedgehog games and more. Her popularity grew
in Sonic Adventure, Dreamcast. Amy also had a new look. Ever
since 1998, with the exception of Sonic Rivals 2 for PSP,
she has appeared in all the games current.
~Piko-Piko Hammer~
Her Piko-Piko hammer is Amy's most common attack she uses in
all games since Sonic Adventure. Her Piko-Piko Hammer
however was introduced in "Sonic the Fighters" (1996). The
hammer has been Amy's favorite. She uses it to defend
herself and others and threat enemies or anything that
annoys her.
~ Cream the Rabbit ~
Amy and Cream are best friends. Since Sonic Heroes (2004),
they both became best of friends and also in the same team
"Team Rose". It looked like to they had a sister-to-sister
relationship. Also it's not just that, in Sonic Advance 3
(2004) when Cream and Amy join up, they are known as 'Team
Jubilee' which serves as a counterpart to Sonic and Tails'
Unbreakable Bond. In Sonic X (2003-2005), Cream and Amy
always hang out. In Sonic Battle (2004), they also hanged
out with each other and in Shadow the Hedgehog (2005), in
the 'Cryphic Castle' level, Amy asks Shadow to find Cream,
which shows she so much cares for her.
~ Amy's Rivals and Enemies ~
Amy's main rival (also other characters) is Doctor
Eggman. Eggman introduced Amy in Sonic CD for her
kidnap. In most games and most of the time in Sonic X, it's
always Doctor Eggman. Metal Sonic was also Amy's enemy since
he was the one who aided Eggman in her kidnap. In Sonic
Heroes, he was also too the main enemy for all characters
including Amy.
In Sonic Adventure (1999), one of Eggman's robots, Zero has
kidnapped Amy, and chased her around in most of her levels
giving her a hard time to escape. But in the end, she
managed to destroy Zero.
~ Amy's theme songs ~
-
Sonic Adventure -
"My Sweet Passion". It is sung by Nikki
Gregoroff.
-
Sonic Adventure 2 -
A shorter version of "My Sweet Passion".
-
Sonic Heroes -
"Follow Me". Although technically a theme for Team Rose,
it focuses entirely on Amy. In one point of the song
there is a remix to a part of My Sweet Passion. It is
sung by Kay Hanley.
