^^ Huh, I found the older 2D games always the hardest as you would get far then lose all your lives and start from the first zone again.

Sonic 1 has no save utility (at least I think it doesn't), but Sonic 2 and 3 did have save blocks so if you get a game over, you can simply load up that zone again.

But if you get Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, if you play Sonic 1, 2 or 3 remember that you can save anytime, any place anywhere and when you load up the file you continue where you left off.

Yeah, maybe it is just the first Sonic I was thinking of. D=
I havent ever completed it for that reason of not being good. =3

Sonamyluver, it's not a TV show if that's what your thinking. http://www.sonamyrev.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/animesweat.gif
It's a game, which is in episode form. Which means you get parts of the game at a time (Instead of all at once)

Speed, if you count S3 & SK (there are the same game bur divided), How many episodes do you count?

Well, there's two. I'm not quite where you're getting at, though...

Sonic 2 never had a save feature until Sonic Jam came out. Sonic 3, though, was the first Sonic game to have the save feature. Just wanted to clear that up.

I wouldn't call Sonic & Knuckles a good example to Sonic 4's episodic format. Have you played Tales of Monkey Island or Sam and Max? It's like that.

Didn't Sonic Spinball also have a save feature on the PS2 Sonic Mega Collection Plus?

If they let you save the game at any point in time and let you resume it at that spot then it will make the game too easy. I mean how many people here abused the save feature before getting a into a bonus stage for a chaos emerald?

If people want to abuse it that way then let them. If Sonic 4 has that kind of save feature (which it will not) I will be abusing it a lot. No way I'm starting again from Zone 1 again.

I think that this game will have a save feature for each zone

Oh, looky here! The JP and US sites have been updated with new screens for Lost Labyrinth! It seems that the tilting gimmick for the minecart act has been removed and that act has more to it (other gimmicks!)!

I love this shot, in particular:
