Sonic Free Riders has been announced by Sega, after the Microsoft E3 Press conference. This game is a sequel to Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity. This game is coming to Xbox 360. However you need the Kinect (formerly named 'Project Natal') in order to play this title. Sega didn't announce this is an 'exclusive' title to the XBox so it is still possible it can come on the PS3 and Wii. But right now it's only mentioned for Xbox.

Thoughts?

My personal thought is, since I'm not a fan of Riders I can easily look away from this title. Also you need a $150 Kinect to play this title.

If they make this for PS3 WITHOUT support for Move (or they have, but always do you play this with controller), maybe I will buy this.

No I do not want this on the PS3 Oh God no. I hate Riders, I had so much problems with the first one. If it comes out on PS3, I would be forced to get Move and the PS Eye and buy the freaking game because I want to get every single Sonic trophy.

I just pray tomorrow that Sega comes to their freaking minds and they would announce a new Sonic game for the PS3 and it's not Free Riders. Wii gets an exclusive game, 360 gets an exclusive game and PS3 gets an exclusive game.

It's your opinion but my opinion was that I like Riders but the final boss was very difficult. And if they release this for the PS3 with Move support I won't buy this

What do you mean a $150 Kinect?
The guy at the conference said there is no price on it as of yet

I enjoyed the first Sonic Riders game for Xbox, kept me busy for hours.
Zero Gravity I got more bored of...
So this one, Is undecided but I may get it as using the kinect may prove to be 'fun'

Okay it has not been confirmed as $150, but GameStop suggests it's gonna be $150.

Don't expect Kinect to be below $90 though. It looks expensive.

Oh I expect Kinect to be quite a lot.
The new 360s look well sweet though to use kinect on

Tho 150 sounds a lot its gonna come to around Ł80 here. Which doesnt sound as bad even tho the value is the same.

I usually give any Sonic game a try.

I don't think any Sonic fan will be happy with this. Kinect + Free Riders...we are looking over $100 here and it's just for 1 game. It's not like the next upcoming Sonic games after Free Riders will be using Kinect...

Well I havent been looking forward to any Sonic games lately as they're all a let down but this could be either really good or really bad.
Some of there other Kinect games seem OK. So if I buy Kinect it wouldnt just be for Sonic.

I'm still trying to think how they would pull this off in Kinect. How can you pull a 360, 1080 spin and do front flips? Also how do you move? Questions to be answered...

Not sure but it will prob be controlled by voice commands and body movements... maybe something like leaning to the right will make you turn right and same for the left and jump to jump.

Yeah but how do you move forward? How can you stop and reverse? Voice commands? Shouting at your TV for every command will ruin the game.

Yeah this games supposed kinetic thing already screams fail. I mean I am not paying $200 just to play the game and have a kinetic that I won't even use.

The Japanese site is open and has 3 screenshots which vaguely show how it'll work.

Still doesn't tell us how to stop or reverse. I'm guessing to move forward, it will be like Secret Rings when you automatically move forward.

Yeah, and that could potentially be a very bad thing.

Double post! (because it won't let me edit for some reason)

Actual gameplay footage!

It doesn't show him stopping or reversing, though. I just gotta say that the swimming is my favorite part for reasons you can see. Also @ 3:38 you can catch some Sonic 4 in the reflection!
