Coming to Nintendo Wii and DS this fall.
Sonic will have to navigate a sci-fi themed amusement park to thwart the plans of -- who else -- Dr. Eggman by saving multicolored aliens, each of which bestow a certain special ability upon the series' attitude-filled protagonist.
After looking at this trailer, I went WTF. Honestly. D=

A co-op mode is out of the question. Sonic never had and never will use Co-op well. It was only used in Sonic 2,3 and technically in Shadow the Hedgehog with its trick of 2nd player pressing start to take control of a character with a terrible camera sharing crap.

Also, co-op was in Knuckles Chaotix (technically not a Sonic game, but still).
EDIT: Some gameplay videos. Definitely liking it. Also confirms what that Metal Sonic-like planet is. GAME LAND!
